The Canopy at Brenton Skating Plaza Installed for 2018 Season

DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (April 12, 2018) — The Canopy at Brenton Skating Plaza has been installed for the 2018 season. The one-of-a-kind 160-foot-tall Canopy enables the facility to function as a unique outdoor venue, offering panoramic cityscape views with the benefit of rain and sun protection. The venue is available for rent to companies and organizations that are hosting public or private events from May through mid-October.

“The Canopy allows Brenton Skating Plaza to be a popular venue year-round by offering a scenic outdoor location for corporate events, parties, weddings, concerts and other unique activities,” said Robbin McClelland, General Manager of Brenton Skating Plaza.

Brenton Skating Plaza is located at 520 Robert D. Ray Drive along the Principal Riverwalk in the heart of Downtown DSM. The event space has standing room for 1,880 people and up to 430 people to be seated. It is handicap accessible with fully-operational restrooms and Wi-Fi.

The Canopy at Brenton Skating Plaza is currently scheduled to host four concerts as part of Nitefall on the River.

The Canopy at Brenton Skating Plaza is installed every May through mid-October. The Canopy is 160 feet tall and is available for outdoor event rental, including reunions, business events and concerts.
