Lil' Sidekick Founder Amy Vohs to Speak at Square One DSM Startup Stories
DES MOINES, IA — Amy Vohs, Founder of Lil’ Sidekick, will be the guest speaker at the June Square One DSM Startup Stories event. Startup Stories is a monthly networking event geared toward entrepreneurs, investors and those interested in entrepreneurship, and it features an interview-style presentation with Square One DSM Executive Director Mike Colwell. The June event is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21 at the Greater Des Moines Partnership, 700 Locust St., St. 100 in Des Moines.
The Lil’ Sidekick tether is an adaptable toy strap that keeps kids from dropping or throwing their toys away from them. Designed by a mom, it will secure anything from a small crayon to a big stuffed animal. The tether can also easily attach to anything such as strollers, carriers, grocery carts, bikes and more. Lil’ Sidekick is available at Walmart, Toys “R” Us, kohls.com and other retailers around the world.
Vohs will talk about her journey of getting Lil’ Sidekick into big box retailers and her experiences with bootstrapping. She will also focus on how to gain investors and how she uses the available resources in Iowa to grow and maintain her business. Colwell will begin the presentation by interviewing Vohs and will then open up for questions from the audience.
