Laura Rowley to Present on Retail Trends at Sept. 5 Event
GREATER DES MOINES, IOWA (Aug. 10, 2018) – Laura Rowley, an award-winning journalist, author and media executive and owner of a business consulting firm, will present on trends shaping the retail industry on Wednesday, Sept. 5. “The Future of Retail” event will take place from 7:30 – 9 a.m. at Des Moines Embassy Club West, 520 Market St., West Des Moines. Attendees will learn how Greater Des Moines (DSM) leaders can effectively plan for the future of retail in the region.
Rowley will present on how retailers, owners and investors can navigate the current disruption in the industry and find success in a swiftly shifting environment. She will discuss her real-time research to help identify the big picture of retail, define the new terrain with major national retailers closing, identify winning tactics for retailers and look at how retailers can thrive in the future. Chris Conetzkey, Publisher of the Business Record, will facilitate a Q&A.
Rowley is the owner of a consulting firm that works with clients in retail, real estate, finance, media and more, helping them articulate and communicate their values, innovations and strengths. She is the author of four books about successful companies, including “On Target: How the World’s Hottest Retailer Hit a Bull’s-Eye” and the histories of Family Dollar Stores, Humana and CBRE. She also worked as Vice President of Video Production and Product at Meredith, Executive Producer of Original Video and Partnerships for The Huffington Post and as a field producer and reporter for CNN’s “Business Unusual” and “Your Money.”
