DSM USA Announces Partnership with Tallo
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb. 28, 2020) – Greater Des Moines (DSM) is the first economic development region to license the Tallo connection platform, making this the first partnership of its kind in the country. Tallo’s platform connects talent – students age 13+ and adult learners – to higher education institutions and businesses that match their interests.
More than 780,000 users nationwide are already utilizing the Tallo platform. By creating a Tallo profile, talent can learn about real-life opportunities in career fields that interest them, learn about higher education programs that are available to prepare them for these careers, and access $20 billion in scholarships. The platform is free for talent.
Higher education institutions and employers can register for an organizational profile to browse prospective talent through the program. They can use predictive analytics to help determine what students might be interested in a career at a specific company or in a major in higher education. They can connect to talent through the platform to help them learn more about how to follow their desired career path. Employers can also set up profiles to market their organization to talent.
“Colleges have recruited athletes from a young age for years, and Tallo provides a similar opportunity for colleges and employers to recruit potential talent,” said Mary Bontrager, Executive Vice President of Talent Development at The Partnership. “This will help connect our employers to students and adults in the workplace here in Iowa and across the country, and give students a leg up on planning for their future.”
The Partnership’s license covers the cost for all K-12 school districts in the region to help them get their students signed up and using the system as quickly as possible. The partnership with Tallo also provides incentives for DSM companies and colleges that want to engage with the talent on the Tallo platform.
Organizations can learn more about the platform on Tallo’s website. Organizations interested in learning more about how to sign up through The Partnership should contact Bontrager at mbontrager@DSMpartnership.com.
