Nationwide Announced as Presenting Sponsor of Award-winning Des Moines Arts Festival®
DES MOINES, IA May 3, 2018 — Des Moines Arts Festival® is pleased to announce Nationwide as the presenting sponsor of the annual Des Moines Arts Festival. This year’s Festival will be June 22-24 in Western Gateway Park.
The eleven-time Grand Pinnacle Award-winning festival is a free annual three-day arts and culture event surrounding the John and Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park in downtown Des Moines, whose mission is to “Impact Lives through the Arts.”
“We are thrilled to welcome Nationwide as our new presenting sponsor,” said Stephen King, CFEE, Des Moines Arts Festival Executive Director and Immediate Past Chair of the International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) World Board of Directors. “Nationwide and its associates have long been a significant part of our growing community and we are grateful for both their support and engagement as we continue to actualize the mission and vision of our organization. It’s thanks to our incredible sponsors that the festival remains free for all to attend.”
“Nationwide is proud to support the Des Moines Arts Festival,” said Jeremy Staun, midwest regional vice president at Nationwide. “Community events like this make Des Moines a wonderful place for our associates to live, work and play.”
Nationwide’s sponsorship will enable the organization to activate many parts of its newly adopted strategic plan. The plan will have a significant impact on the arts and cultural sector in the community and build on the momentum the organization has earned over the course of the past five years. Key to the plan is playing a leadership role in advancing the Regional Cultural Assessment, an effort funded by Bravo Greater Des Moines, with a priority to elevate the impact of the arts in the region and expanding support for individual artists.
