Meredith Corporation Foundation Grants $150,000 to ChildServe's Forward Together Campaign
JOHNSTON, Iowa – The Meredith Corporation Foundation announced today a commitment of $150,000 to ChildServe’s Forward Together campaign. The gift, which will span three years, will help ChildServe open a pediatric behavioral health clinic, build a new pediatric inpatient rehabilitation unit and expand its ability to provide specialized, 24/7 nursing care for individuals with complex medical needs.
“We are so inspired by the work ChildServe does to improve the health and well-being of so many children in our community. We are honored to continue our support of those efforts that make life better for thousands of Central Iowa families through this donation,” said Mell Meredith, Chairman of the Board, Meredith Corporation Foundation.
The Meredith Corporation Foundation has supported ChildServe through charitable giving for more than two decades, including contributions to past campaigns; corporate matching gifts; and development of the healing garden, an outdoor, wheelchair-accessible garden for children at ChildServe.
“We are incredibly grateful for the longstanding support The Meredith Corporation Foundation has provided to our organization,” said Teri Wahlig, M.D., ChildServe Chief Executive Officer. “Throughout this campaign, I have been overwhelmed by the philanthropic spirit of so many of our ChildServe friends and partners. Thanks to the generosity of the Meredith Corporation Foundation and many others, we can continue to expand our much-needed services to help children with special healthcare needs and their families live a great life.”
To date, 167 donors have contributed more than $9.54 million to ChildServe’s Forward Together campaign. Ninety-six of those donors are first-time campaign contributors to the organization. The campaign, launched in December of 2018 with a goal of raising $10 million, is the largest fundraising initiative in the organization’s 92-year history.
