Care + Connection for Worry-Free Days Ahead
For 136 years, IMT Insurance has been making people whole again after a loss. That is the very essence of our being and one we believe we do well. Throughout the past few weeks, we’ve strived to live up to our slogan, “Be Worry Free,” for both employees and the Greater Des Moines (DSM) community.
Workspace Comfort + Connection
Thanks to a strong technology infrastructure that has been refined over the past two years, our employees transitioned to work-from-home environments quickly and smoothly. This advanced preparation, coupled with on-demand support from IMT’s in-house IT team, allowed business to carry on seamlessly. To ensure everyone was geared up for their new workspaces, IMT also gifted each employee an office supply stipend to be used on ergonomic chairs, laptop stands, extra monitors and more.
As we continue to settle into the new work norm, teams have been using Zoom to conduct meetings and stay connected. Whether showing off their Spirit Week costumes, hosting team trivia hours or introducing each other to new office mates (both human and pet varieties), our employees are finding creative ways to stay engaged. IMT recently distributed virtual gift cards to each employee, a plus for anyone craving their favorite local eatery and some facetime with a fellow team member.
Purposeful, Frontline Giving
IMT is built on deep roots and relationships in our communities. Our company believes we can have, and should have, a positive impact on the communities in which we do business, through charitable giving and volunteer support.
Throughout the past few weeks, IMT has invested in numerous initiatives. Our efforts focused on partnerships that directly benefit our employees, independent insurance agents and insureds who are on the frontline of needs.
Disaster Funding
IMT was proud to contribute to the Greater Des Moines Disaster Recovery Fund (DRF). The DRF’s purpose is to provide investments focused on reducing the disaster-related economic and health impacts on vulnerable populations. In response to a critical need for blood donations, the American Red Cross utilized our donation to support blood drives throughout DSM.
Food Distribution Support
A major concern for many students is how and where they will get their next meal. To provide some relief, IMT donated to a food distribution site in each of our six writing states. Additionally, we continue partnering with our Independent Insurance Agents across the Midwest to contribute to or match their donations to school backpack programs and community food banks.
Healthcare Heroes
IMT accepted the #choicechallenge, a call-to-action by Choice Creative Solutions. Our contribution provided meals for the Polk County Emergency Management office and Broadlawns Medical Center. Gift cards from local restaurants were also donated to UnityPoint Health - Des Moines and MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. As a thank you for IMT’s contribution, Community Choice Credit Union donated funds to the Food Bank of Iowa!
Social Support
To help bring joy and creativity to our social media followers, IMT developed a series of activities and contests. From coloring pages to in-home safety checklists to requests for photos and videos of how people are passing their time at home, our online community continues to stay engaged and lift each other up!
Employees Give Back
Each year, IMT’s workforce spends nearly 1,000 hours volunteering. To keep that community spirit sparked while we are working from home, IMT challenged employees to send greeting cards to area nursing homes and assisted living campuses and even offered to mail cards and stickers directly to employees. We also provided resources for locating nearby blood drive sites and provided links to find virtual volunteer opportunities in their neighborhoods.
As our community continues to better understand the impact of COVID-19 on our employees, agents and customers, IMT is prepared to offer support. The IMT family is resilient. We are strong and resourceful. Together we will all get through this unique and uncertain time. From all of us at IMT, we wish you good health and worry-free days ahead.
