Partnership, Capital Crossroads and Young Professionals Connection to Host Public Policy Issue Forum on the Search for Talent

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (April 5, 2022) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership, Capital Crossroads and Young Professionals Connection (YPC) will hold a Public Policy Issue Forum on the Search for Talent on Thursday, April 21 at Noon.

The forum will feature a panel discussion that will address existing talent shortages, support for Future Ready Iowa initiatives, opportunities to engage untapped talent for the workforce such as foreign born and returning citizens, and policies that ensure Iowa continues to be a welcoming place. Confirmed panelists include:

  • Brad Anderson, AARP Iowa
  • Rob Denson, Des Moines Area Community College
  • Beth Nigut, EMC Insurance Companies
  • Kathy Leggett, Future Ready Iowa Policy Advisor at Iowa Workforce Development, Moderator

This is part of a series of public policy forums throughout 2022 to explore issues impacting Greater Des Moines (DSM). Each forum will include a conversation of experts who will provide insights surrounding the policy implications of that priority issue. Future forums will take place every other month on the third Tuesday of the month, including: June 16, Aug. 18, Oct. 20 and Dec. 15.
