Greater Des Moines Partnership to Host Raising Capital for Startups Seminar

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Oct. 30, 2024) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership has announced that it will host a Raising Capital for Startups Seminar on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event will take place at The Partnership’s office at 700 Locust Street in Downtown Des Moines (DSM).  

Topics covered in the seminar will include: 

  • The Process of Raising Capital 
  • The Financial Model 
  • The Capitalization Table 
  • The Pitch
  • The Term Sheet 

"The Partnership is excited to bring back the Raising Capital Seminar and continue to provide resources to local entrepreneurs,” said Diana Wright, Startup Community Builder for The Partnership. “When it comes to securing funds, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution — it’s a process with multiple pathways. We’re here to help participants understand their options and learn more about equity financing as one of those pathways.” 
 
The Partnership will offer a bonus option for entrepreneurs and businesses to receive a free one-hour SWOT analysis of their business as they prepare for funding from a panel of startup experts. Once registered for the Raising Capital Seminar, participants will be sent more information on the analyses closer to the event.
