Iowa Architectural Foundation and Full Court Press Restaurants to Present 11th Annual Eat|Drink|Architecture Tour

The Iowa Architectural Foundation (IAF) and Full Court Press Restaurants are pleased to present the 11th annual "Eat. Drink. Architecture." walking tour of downtown Des Moines, taking place on Saturday, April 15, 2023. The unique event offers an exclusive opportunity for architecture enthusiasts to explore the rich architectural heritage of Des Moines while sampling the city's thriving culinary scene.

IAF’s volunteer architects will guide participants on a walking tour through Des Moines' up-and-coming Market District, historic Court Avenue, and the Civic Center Historic District along the Des Moines River and into the East Village. Along the way, participants will also visit several Full Court Press restaurants including Truman’s Pizza, Rita’s Cantina, and The Red Monk, where they will enjoy delicious food and drinks specially crafted for the occasion.

"We are thrilled to once again partner with Full Court Press Restaurants to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to Des Moines," said Laura Porter, Executive Director of the Iowa Architectural Foundation. "This tour is a wonderful opportunity for people to learn about the architectural character of our city and enjoy some of the liveliest bars and restaurants that Des Moines has to offer."

The first tour will depart from Ken’s Not-So-Secret Speakeasy at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 15, 2023, with other tours scheduled for 11:30AM, 12:00PM, and 12:30PM. All tours will last approximately 3 hours. Tickets for "Eat. Drink. Architecture." are $40 and can be purchased online at Eventbrite.

Thanks to Jeff Bruning and FCP, 100% of the proceeds will help fund Iowa Architectural Foundation programming around the state, increasing the public's awareness of the value of architecture in building a better world.
