Partnership Set To Advance Regional Priorities In Washington, D.C.
Nearly 200 of Central Iowa’s business and community leaders will travel to the nation’s capital May 10-12 to present a federal agenda and promote regional priorities and economic development plans during the Greater Des Moines Partnership’s 36th annual trip to Washington, D.C. While in Washington, participants will have the opportunity to advocate for key issues facing Greater Des Moines (DSM).
Throughout the three-day trip, local leaders will meet with members of Iowa’s Congressional delegation, the Administration, and their staffs. The Partnership will host a Congressional Leadership luncheon featuring United States Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) and Congressman Erik Paulsen (R-MN); as well as a breakfast meeting featuring Chuck Todd, Political Director of NBC News and moderator of Meet the Press. The Partnership will also host Congressional staff policy meetings addressing eight priorities for Central Iowa including: Iowa Biotechnology Center, Des Moines International Airport Terminal, Bus Rapid Transit, Long Term Transportation Funding, Trade, Immigration, Quality of Life and Graduate Medical Education.
