Des Moines engineer named to ENR Midwest's 2015 Top 20 Under 40
Ryan Chapman of KJWW Engineering Consultants has been named to ENR Midwest’s 2015 Top 20 Under 40. The annual program recognizes young design and construction professionals from the region who have made significant contributions to their firms, professions and communities.
The Top 20 Under 40 Program focuses on individual achievement, in this instance the contributions of 12 men and eight women hailing from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio and Wisconsin. ENR Midwest received scores of entries for the program, and a panel of six industry professionals selected candidates they believed best demonstrated excellence and leadership in their professions and communities.
Chapman, a Professional Engineer and LEED Accredited Professional, is a project executive in the Des Moines office of KJWW, where he has been employed since earning a degree in electrical engineering in 2000 from Iowa State University. He has been in a leadership role on some of the largest projects KJWW has designed in the past few years, mostly at the University of Iowa, where he currently is serving as project executive for the $100 million Pharmacy Building project. He gives several presentations each year to Des Moines area schools in an effort to increase interest in engineering, has judged MathCounts and Imagination Innovation school competitions, and mentored junior high students on engineering principles for the Lego League.
Chapman and the other honorees will be featured in the Feb. 2 issue of ENR Midwest.
