Out to Lunch Series Returns and Is Set to Be the Biggest Yet

DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (May 2, 2018) — This spring and summer will see the biggest Out to Lunch series yet when it kicks off May 23 in Downtown Des Moines (DSM).

With six events planned, each Out to Lunch event will feature food trucks and vendors along with live music from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first is being held on the West Lawn of the Iowa State Capitol. The events are sponsored by MidAmerican Energy Company and Des Moines Area Regional Transit (DART).

Out to Lunch, which is free and open to the public, returns for a fourth year. It offers a fun experience for Downtown DSM employees to step away from their desk and enjoy lunch with fellow residents in a vibrant Downtown setting. DART is making attending easy — all the events will be located near the free D-Line Shuttle. Food trucks and vendors confirmed for the first event include Hawaiian Grill, Formaro’s Stuffed, Mo’goodness Foods, Say Cheese and Karam’s Grill. Andrew Hoyt will provide live music.

Out to Lunch, which is produced by the Greater Des Moines Partnership, is scheduled for:

  • Wednesday, May 23 at Iowa State Capitol – West Lawn.
  • Wednesday, May 30 on High Street between Seventh and Eighth Streets.
  • Wednesday, June 6 on Walnut Street between 10th and 12th Streets.
  • Wednesday, June 13 at Cowles Commons.
  • Wednesday, June 20 on Walnut Street between Sixth and Seventh Streets.
  • Wednesday, June 27 on East Court Avenue between Fifth and Sixth Streets.
