You've 'Goat' to Check Out Simple Life Farms at The Market
In 2005, Eric and Diana Smith realized a dream when they bought some land in Winterset. They filled it with goats and so Simple Life Farms’ story began.
They spent time learning how to raise the goats and then on how to make goat products like cheese.
Goat products galore
“The milk is what makes the product. It has so much in it and with all the benefits, goats milk is the closest thing to human milk, so it works with humans better — be it on the skin or ingested,” Diana said.
Simple Life Farms can be found at the Downtown Farmers Market selling anything from soap to lotion, body butter, face cream, shampoo, shave bars and a number of cheeses.
“The Market is our foundation. We have so many friends Downtown, we have so many people who come and see us every week — we have so many vendor friends, so many customer friends,” Eric said. “When we sell through The Market, then we are profitable, we can employ people, we can buy our things local and we can spread the money.”
