Another week means there are more events that you just can’t miss! These next several days are full of can’t-miss happenings right here in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Iowa Cubs Baseball Games / Cubbie’s Birthday!
Tuesday, July 23 – Sunday, July 28 & Tuesday, July 30 – Sunday, August 4, 2024 | Principal Park
Don’t miss a LOT of opportunities for a fun night at the ballpark! The Cubs will line up against the Indianapolis Indians for six-straight days of gameplay, followed by another six-run lineup against the St. Paul Saints. But pay special attention to the game on Thursday, August 1, as this is no ordinary baseball game. It’s also Iowa Cub’s mascot, Cubbie’s, birthday party! Bring the whole family for an exciting game of baseball and the best birthday party in town at Principal Park!

Live Music Featuring Del Saxman Jones & Keith Owens
Sunday, July 28, 2024 | Truman’s KC Pizza Tavern
Come to Truman’s near the Market District for live music on the patio featuring Del Saxman Jones and Keith Owens from 2 - 5 p.m. The lawn will be open for overflow seating, so don’t forget your lawn chair or blanket to sit on.

Music in the Garden: Adé & the Soul Brothers

Experience an array of diverse musical genres ranging from soul, jazz, blues, funk, soft rock and mainstream R&B with live music from Adé & the Soul Brothers at Music in the Garden. Part of the Botanical Garden’s summer music series presented by EMC Insurance Companies, this is a performance you don’t want to miss this summer. Delight in the experience of the lush garden foliage, live music, family and friends plus food and drinks, too!. Doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 6:30 p.m.

Zumba at Brenton
Sunday, July 28, 2024 | Brenton Skating Plaza
Get your heart pumping and body moving! It’s Zumba time in Downtown DSM, with only the best views of the Downtown skyline and the Des Moines River, too. Des Moines Parks and Recreation hosts this class, which will continue each Sunday until Sept. 15. The cost to participate is $5 per week, or $25 for each session (each is 5 weeks long). Bonus: Check out even more family-friendly programming from the Parks and Recreation team this summer and fall!

Boomerang at Local Bands, Brews and Bikes
