80/35 Music Festival

Friday, July 12 & Saturday, July 13 | Water Works Park
The annual celebration of music is back! 80/35 Music Festival kicks off this weekend with music from all genres and a diverse lineup of musicians. Headliners include multi-Grammy-winning artists Killer Mike and OK Go, with more than 40 additional acts included in the lineup. Live music will play throughout the two days of the festival on four free stages and one paid stage right here in Downtown DSM. Don’t miss this opportunity to watch amazing performances, browse unique pieces from local artists and savor a variety of delicious food and drink options at 80/35!

Free Outdoor Yoga

Saturday, July 13 | Big Grove Brewery
Start your weekend off right with free outdoor yoga on the patio at Big Grove Brewery on Saturday at 10 a.m. Classes are led by Elaine Moen and Darcey Noyce. Bring your mat, towel, water and friends for a gentle, restorative yoga flow. Grab tickets for a new show at Noce, featuring Pyramid Theatre Company Artistic Director Napoleon Douglas and his jazz orchestra performing music of the late Sammy Davis Jr. Napoleon Douglas is an international actor, singer and entrepreneur with a diverse background in the creative arts. He serves as a Board Member and Artist-in-Residence for City Voices — a nonprofit community music education program that provides free voice lessons and intensive music education instruction to underserved students in the Greater Des Moines (DSM) area. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this amazing jazz show!

Music in the Garden: Son Peruchos

Thursday, July 18 | Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden
Get ready to dance the night away with live music from Son Peruchos at Music in the Garden. Part of the Botanical Garden’s summer music series presented by EMC Insurance Companies, this is a performance that will keep the summer vibe alive. Son Peruchos play a fusion of Andean and South American folk music using instruments such as the zampoña, quena and charango. This musical ensemble also combines traditional Andean sound with more modern Latin and Caribbean rhythms such as cumbia, bachata and rock en Español. Delight in the experience of the beautiful Botanical Garden, energetic live music, family and friends, food and drinks, and the summery weather. Doors open at 6 p.m., music starts at 6:30 p.m.
