Can you believe we are already in the last month of the Downtown Farmers’ Market season? Find an array of fall produce this month, from pumpkins to peppers to apples to greens like lettuce and cabbage.
The Market’s hours change to 8 a.m. – Noon during the last four Market events so sleep in a bit before heading to Downtown Des Moines (DSM) to shop your fall favorites. And mark your calendar for the upcoming Winter Market, too, taking place Nov. 22 – 24, 2024.
Apples, Pumpkins, Gourds and Squash at The Market
Get all the pumpkins you need for decorating or for making pies at The Market. Prices vary depending on the size. You can also find many varieties of squash and decorative gourds for sale. Look for your pumpkins at:

Downtown Farmers' Market Fall Herbs
There are vendors offering up fall herbs at The Market this month as well. Whether it’s fresh parsley, cilantro or garlic you’re looking for, you can buy now and store it for up to a few months depending on the variety.
