New at the 2021 World Food & Music Festival: A Daily Dose of Sugar to Showcase 5 Cookie Flavors

A Daily Dose of Sugar is a local sweets business owned and operated by Samantha Daily. The business is mainly cookies, but Daily is hoping to expand it to include more desserts, including cheesecakes, wedding cakes, fruit tarts and more. A Daily Dose of Sugar got its start when Daily began making cookies for Hot Off The Presses, a local food truck in Greater Des Moines (DSM). After seeing success from her partnership with the food truck, she opened her own business in June of 2021 and now plans to be part of the 2021 World Food & Music Festival on Sept. 17 – 19, 2021 in Downtown DSM, after finding out about the opportunity through working out of Kitchen Spaces in the Drake neighborhood.

Daily’s Background

Back in 2018, Daily was given the opportunity of a lifetime when she made it onto MasterChef with the legendary Gordon Ramsay. After placing fourth in the competition, Ramsay sponsored Daily in culinary school in New York City. Daily went on to work for Christina Tosi and gain an incredible amount of experience working in various restaurants in the city. This background, and a willingness to do what the customer needs, helps Daily stand apart in DSM.

What to Expect at the World Food & Music Festival

At the Festival, A Daily Dose of Sugar will offer five cookie flavors, as well as mini cookie samples depending on what product is looking like. The event is Daily’s first time selling individually, without the collaboration of Hot Off The Presses, and Daily is excited to see how the product does. Here are the five cookie flavors attendees can look forward to at the event:

• Raspberry Cheesecake Cookie
• Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookie
• Mexican Chocolate Crinkle Cookie
• Flourless Monster Cookie*

Of all the cookies offered, Daily suggests attendees give the Raspberry Cheesecake Cookie a try. It’s a flavor that’s a little different, a little out there, but that consistently gets good reviews from those who try it. Enjoy the flavors of the free 2021 World Food & Music Festival in Western Gateway Park. The Festival is celebrating its 17th year with amazing food from local vendors and unique programming that includes a Naturalization Ceremony and live music showcasing culturally diverse performances.
