Holiday Promenade Deals: Friday, Dec. 1, 2023

This year’s Holiday Promenade will feature all kinds of special offers and deals from Historic East Village businesses, including shops and restaurants, eager to celebrate the season! On Friday, Dec. 1, holiday-themed events include a model train display and crafts at The Des Moines Heritage Center from 5 – 8 p.m. and the Des Moines Low Brass Quintet "Betruken Messing" near Salon Spa W from 6 – 8 p.m. The trolley will run from 5 – 9 p.m., too, so you won’t want to miss out on all of the festive fun!

Join Walnut Creek Church to build and decorate your own gingerbread house. All materials are provided, including graham crackers, frosting and assorted candies.

• Peace Tree Brewing Company, 317 E. Court Ave., will serve up their Holiday Beer Release: Gingerbread Blonde — Blonde Fatale with gingerbread spices. Very limited draft available! Fundraiser Friday with Ellipsis Iowa is from 4 – 7 p.m., with $1 from every beverage donated to Ellipses Iowa. A Holiday Sweater Party and live music by Joshua Sinclair will take place from 7 – 9 p.m. with a prize for the best sweater, and Peace Tree Grilled Cheeses are available from 6 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.      
• Hot cocoa flights at Vibrant Coffeehouse & Kitchen, 520 E. Grand Ave., are just $9.95.
