Follow Five Adventure Stories Through Downtown DSM Neighborhoods
Last month, the Greater Des Moines Partnership unveiled a new series for Downtown Des Moines (DSM) adventurers to get to know the downtown neighborhoods we all love. This series is an opportunity to enjoy downtown from a new perspective and embrace all it has to offer. The Downtown DSM Adventure Stories asks participants to choose a story, read through the story chapters by scanning a QR code and take part in interactive Adventure Challenge activities throughout the various neighborhoods in Downtown DSM. As the story unfolds in Western Gateway or the Historic East Village, support the local businesses in that district as you follow along.
Current Stories
Since Aug. 18, 2021, three adventure stories have already been released, including the Nature Adventure, Travel Adventure, Undersea Adventure and Western Adventure, with one more story to be released on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
How to Participate
It’s easy to participate in the Downtown DSM Adventure Stories — and we hope you will make the trip downtown to join in on the fun! Once you’re here, participating is easy. All you need to do is grab your mobile phone, scan the QR code, read through the story chapter, complete the Adventure Challenge for that chapter and move on to the next chapter. As you make your way through the story, we hope you’ll share your experience on social media using #downtownDSM and help us show off the local talented artists who have provided installations for this series.
Keep in mind that the Downtown DSM Adventure Stories are just one way that you can explore Downtown DSM and support local. If you’re looking for other ways to help local businesses thrive, check out #DSMlocal guides, local business directories, downloadables and tips here.
