Open T – Sun in Oct. | Bottle & Bottega
Bottle & Bottega offers easy-to-follow painting classes for groups, families or individuals. October designs vary throughout the month, including pumpkins, witches, fall leaves, black cats and jack-o’-lanterns. Friday, October 14 is Black Light Night: Sip a glass of wine and create a glow-in-the-dark masterpiece!

Iowa Wild vs. San Jose Barracudas

Friday, Oct. 14 – Saturday, Oct. 15 | Wells Fargo Arena
Friday is opening night of the Iowa Wild on their home turf in Downtown DSM. Then, Saturday the theme of the night is Hoptoberfest, plus you’ll experience the first Local Concert Series of the season! Additionally, the first 1,500 fans at each match will receive a special giveaway item.

The Music of Queen

Saturday, Oct. 15 | Des Moines Civic Center
The Des Moines Symphony “will rock you!” Hear all the Queen classics you love, including “Somebody to Love,” “Under Pressure,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and more! The Symphony will be accompanied by a full rock band with vocals by MiG Ayesa, along with guest conductor Martin Herman.

Witness Matlou

Saturday, Oct. 15 | Temple Theater
Pianist Witness Matlou’s work is inspired by his South African roots including folk, contemporary, classic, jazz and other global musical inspiration. This show honors the heroes of peace and freedom, is inspired by Mohandas K. Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Jr., and Nelson Mandela and features Gateway Dance Theatre.

IMT Des Moines Marathon

Sunday, Oct. 16 | Downtown Des Moines
Make some noise! It’s time to cheer on the participants of the 21st annual IMT Des Moines Marathon! Runners will take on various races including 5K, relay, half marathon and marathon. A kids’ run and other race challenges are also part of the event festivities. The fun, celebratory environment throughout Downtown DSM is something you just have to experience for yourself!
