Cheap Trick
Friday, Sept. 9 | Hoyt Sherman Place
Get your fill of 1970s pop rock ‘n roll! You’ll jam to the musical stylings of Cheap Trick. You’ll hear top hits such as “California Man,” “Dream Police,” “Surrender” and “I Want You to Want Me.” And you’ll enjoy tunes from special guest Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts. Rock on!

- Yoga in the Park
Saturday, Sept. 10 | Gray’s Lake
Des Moines Parks and Recreation continues to host its free yoga at Gray’s Lake every Saturday at 9 a.m. through the month of September! Attendees will partake in a one-hour class led by a volunteer yoga instructor from around the region — this week it’s Gabriel Morrow! BYO yoga mat.

- Touchdown Tailgate
Saturday, Sept. 10 | Cowles Commons
Come on down to Downtown DSM and watch the Iowa vs. Iowa State football game on the big screen! This free and all-ages event is set to be the best tailgate party in DSM. Food trucks will be on-site as well as several vendors and the Iowa Craft Beer Tent. Additionally, non-perishable items will be accepted on-site to support the Des Moines Area Regional Council (DMARC).

- Des Moines Concours d’Elegance
Sunday, Sept. 11 | John & Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park
This is no ordinary car show! Concours is an exhibition of 13 classes of vintage and classic cars in celebration of art and design of the motor vehicle. The event is free to attend and is the capstone of several events surrounding a full weekend of Concours d’Elegance festivities.

Caliente! Salsa Lessons + Open Dance
Thursday, Sept. 15 | Nightingale Cocktail
Spice up your Thursday night! This weekly Latin-infused dance event brings a mix of salsa, bachata and reggaeton hits to the dance floor in Downtown DSM. Try a handcrafted cocktail and cool down on Nightingale’s patio after working up a sweat. This venue offers free admission before 9 p.m., and is open to ages 21 and older.
