Summer Items Downtown Farmers’ Market

This season make sure that you visit Downtown Farmers’ Market vendors along Water Street, north of Court Avenue and south of the Polk County Office parking lot. On Saturday, July 13 and Saturday, July 20, walk the Principal Riverwalk, stop by the Hub Spot and visit 12 new vendor spaces in Downtown Des Moines (DSM).

Vendors may change from week to week, but many attend numerous Market events all season long. From 7 a.m. to Noon every Saturday, shop these Water Street vendor booth recommendations below:

Saturday, July 13

  • Brick and Ember Pizza Company
    • Don’t miss the Neapolitan-style brick oven pizza from Brick and Ember, where you can grab a personal size breakfast pizza from a local vendor. Breakfast pizza includes Sausage Gravy and Biscuit Pizza and Iowa Country Scrambler Pizza.
  • Climbing Kites
    • CBD-infused sparkling water is available from Climbing Kites. Flavors include Pineapple Passion Fruit, Peach Prickly Pear, Orange Mango and Mixed Berry.
  • Hope Family Farm (New in 2024!)
    • At the Hope Family Farm booth on Water Street, pick up some poultry eggs, organic greens and more.
  • Houndstooth and Hooch
    • Quench your thirst with an iced coffee, mocktail or other beverage from Houndstooth and Hooch.
  • Jax and Josie’s Smoked Jerky
    • Purchase smoked dog treats for your favorite pooch. When you do a portion of proceeds go to help the Heartland German Shepherd Rescue. Your dog will love these homemade, single ingredient treats.
  • Juniper Company (New in 2024!)
    • When you visit the Juniper Company booth, shop wall art, jewelry — including handpainted earrings! — and stationery, too.
  • Kathmandu Restaurant (New in 2024!)
    • Taste the savory flavors of Indian and Nepalese cuisine at the Kathmandu booth. This Windsor Heights restaurant uses high quality, fresh ingredients to create its Market menu items.
  • Oakview Produce
    • Homegrown fruits and veggies can be found at the Oakview Produce booth.

Saturday, July 20

  • Barnswallow Flowers (New in 2024!)
    • Say hello when you stop by this female-owned business’ booth along Water Street. Barnswallow Flowers offers new Itty Bitty arrangements, and you won’t want to leave The Market without one!

  • Sunny Day Creations
    • Sunny Day Creations offers customized tie-dye and batik apparel and accessories.
  • The Cellar Winery
    • Wines grown in cold climates at local vineyards are available at The Cellar Winery booth.
