Hessen Haus 20th Anniversary
Friday, Jan. 19 - Sunday, Jan. 21 | Hessen Haus
Celebrate with Hessen Haus over three nights as Hessen Haus turns 20! Enjoy Strolling Accordion by Cheryl Cibula on Friday, Jan. 19, live music by Czech It out on Saturday, Jan. 20 and Party Party Karaoke on Sunday, Jan. 21. Other ways to celebrate include $20 Paulaner boots, 20% off all merch/retail swag, giveaways and more.

Mixology Night
Friday, Jan. 19 | Science Center of Iowa
Bring your crew and grab a drink! This adults-only event takes place one Friday each month, open to individuals ages 21+ to explore the fun exhibits throughout the facility. The theme in January is Cool Science: Embrace wintertime fun in a warm environment by playing on SCI’s indoor sock skating rink and enjoy a toasty hot beverage, too!

Saturday, Jan. 20 | Confluence Brewing Co.
Grab your nearest lightsaber and head over to Confluence! The festivities will include tapping the ChewBOCKa, stein holding contest, Chewbacca call contest and live music from both Trio Aceto and Jake Doty. The Big Red Food Truck will be on-hand to quench your hunger and as always, Chewbacca costumes are highly encouraged too!

Fool House: The Ultimate 90s Dance Party
Saturday, Jan. 20 | Wooly’s
This live music show pulls out all the stops on the sights, sounds and energy of the 90s. Sing alongs? Check. Party throwbacks? Check. Choregraphed dance moves? You can bet on it! This show is all about paying homage to the golden era of boy bands including NSYNC and the Backstreet Boys, and pop stars like TLC, Spice Girls, Britney Spears, Nelly and Blink-182. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8:30 p.m.

$29 Tuesday: Bright Galaxy Paint
Tuesday, Jan. 23 | Bottle & Bottega
Give your couch a break, and book yourself a creative outlet this week! This sip-and-paint studio in Downtown DSM is a great activity with a group, date night or even solo. Each Tuesday, enjoy a painting session for just $29 including an 11x14 canvas — plus the option to upgrade and create a 10-ounce candle as an add-on. No painting experience is necessary, and all supplies and an apron will be provided for each customer.
