Architecture on the Move
Friday, June 14 | Starting at the Iowa Center for Architecture
For $20 per person, you can take a tour of Downtown Des Moines led by one of DSM’s own architects. The tours cover both contemporary and historic architecture, and there are four routes for selection based on north, south, east and west areas of Downtown. Tours cover approximately 14 blocks and last about 90 minutes.

Des Moines Gay Men’s Chorus: United in Song
Friday, June 14 – Saturday, June 15 | Temple Ballroom
The Chorus will perform new works unveiled by composers Ben Wexler and Dr. Matthew Armstrong, as well as several other regional pieces. The theme will honor the LGBTQ+ community’s past while celebrating a future of inclusivity and equality. Tickets are $25 when purchased in advance, or $30 at the door.

Juneteenth Neighbors Day
Saturday, June 15 | Western Gateway Park
The theme of this year’s Iowa Juneteenth is focused on remembering our history, releasing the past and reshaping our future. Join in the celebration with entertainment hosted by All Voices DSM, including headliner Aniba and the Sol Starz and performances by Hope Elim Worship Team, Sharane Calister & the Feel Right Band, The Isiserettes and more. The Des Moines Public Library’s Central Library will offer childrens’ programming like local authors to meet and greet, write and illustrate a mini book, a storywalk and STEM building activities. Additionally, a pop-up art exhibition in the John & Mary Pappajohn Education Center will provide a curated display of works from local BIPOC creatives. Corgi Chase at Iowa Barnstormers
Saturday, June 15 | Wells Fargo Arena
As the Iowa Barnstormers match up against the Quad City Steamwheelers, you’ll also get to witness Corgis and mixed-breed Corgis racing for a win — a fundraiser for the Animal Rescue League of Iowa (ARL). In addition to registering your Corgi for the race, be sure to purchase your gameday ticket through the ARL for discounted admission (and bonus, a portion of the ticket sales will benefit the ARL!).
