If your kids love amphibians, Central Library has a program your family is sure to enjoy! Learn everything there is to know about these smooth, wet animals and how they seem to miraculously transition from egg to adult. A Polk County naturalist will be there to lead the event, share their amphibian knowledge and even introduce you to some live amphibians! Mark your calendar, this is one event you don’t want to miss!

Downtown Farmers’ Market

Saturday, July 20, 2024 | Historic Court District
Enjoy your Saturday morning at Des Moines’ Downtown Farmers’ Market in the Historic Court District. The Market is held every Saturday, now through October, from 7 a.m. – Noon (8 a.m. – Noon during the month of October). The Market supports farmers, growers and artisan food entrepreneurs from around the state of Iowa. Located in the heart of Downtown, The Market provides fresh produce, meat, cheese, eggs, baked goods, plants, flowers, handmade art, live music and entertainment and ready-to-eat prepared food, too.
