10 Downtown Farmers’ Market Favorites
Can you believe it’s the last month of the Downtown Farmers’ Market? Neither can we!
There’s just so much to enjoy at The Market — the specialty food vendors alone will keep you coming back week after week, not to mention what 2024 vendors like Dragon Foodies, Humbl Roots, The Eggroll Ladies, Reyes Tamales, Bridgewater Farms, Black Bagel, Nadia’s French Bakery and Little G’s Treats have to offer!
When you’re at The Market in Downtown Des Moines (DSM), you’re not there just to shop local. You’ve also got to people watch and let the kids try out the mini train at 2S – 20/21/22 where Heartland Mini Railroad Express gives the youngest at The Market something fun to do!

Breakfast Burritos — Breakfast burritos are a must at The Market, and you’ll find them at Booth 4N-17 where Bernardo’s Burritos offers other delicious options, too, like chorizo bowls and steak tacos. Taqueria 3 Hermanos has also been a staple vendor since 2010 and serves up breakfast burritos at Booth 2N-11/13.

Iowa Coffee — If it’s coffee from Northern Vessel (Booth C-323), Iowa Coffee Company (3S-19/21) or any of our other local coffee vendors, you know it’s good. Start your Saturday morning off with a fallish hot drink. Sip on a coffee while you stroll by the local musicians playing at The Market or talk with local vendors.

Flowers — Pepperharrow Farm in Winterset can be found at Booth 4S-09/11 at The Market, and it’s the perfect place to grab a flower bouquet for someone you love, lavender products and honey! At Booth C – 414, Wren & Willow Farm has got seasonal mixed flower bouquets, too.

Spark DSM vendors — Check out a pork tamale from Reyes Tamales at Booth C-224. This fall, you can also pick up a Cinnamon Peppermint Green Tea or try a free sample from Edara Wellness at Booth C-125. And don’t miss Booth C-309, where Churros Artesanales sells high-quality churros.

Arepas — If you’re looking for the best Venezuelan street food you can find locally, check out Booth 3N-05 where Arepa DSM is serving arepas at The Market.

Breakfast Treats — At Booth C-314, Dave’s Coffee Cake has delicious options — there’s even a Halloween Candy Bar Coffee Cake this fall!

Trying new foods — Have you had a pupusa from Tullpa Restaurant booth? It’s located at booth C-420. Or tried the best buttery biscuits ever, courtesy of Holy Biscuits at Booth C-128/130/132?

Sweet Treats— Looking for some sweets at The Market? Jess Desserts has so many to choose from, including salted nut roll bars!

Treats for Best Friends – Check out local vendors like Jax & Josie's Smoked Jerky for great local dog treats that are the perfect treat for your pup.

Fresh Berries — Check out Booth 4S – 45/47/49 where Storybook Orchard sells fresh strawberries and raspberries as well as other fresh fruits and veggies. The Thill’s Produce booth offers fresh berries and produce as well! Check it out at 4N-01/03/05/07.
