For DSM Visitors and Residents Who Love a Scavenger Hunt Various Locations Around Downtown DSM Admission: Free and Open to the Public

During Downtown DSM Tweet Week, 90 handcrafted ceramic birds are hidden throughout Downtown Des Moines (DSM) neighborhoods, including the Historic East Village, Central Downtown, Historic Court District and Western Gateway. Visitors, residents and Downtown employees search for the birds using social media clues. A different local artist designs 10 birds that are hidden each day in locations throughout the Historic East Village, Western Gateway, Historic Court District and Central Downtown. Tweet Week was held in 2021, 2022 and 2023 during the summer months. 

As residents and visitors searched for ornaments upon receiving clues via social media post photos, they were encouraged to shop local and show support for local businesses during the summer season.
