Firehouse Subs® locations in Des Moines are excited to thank guests for their support of Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with a Guest Appreciation Night on Thursday, November 21 from 4 p.m. to close. All guests will receive 50% off of their dine-in and take out orders in honor of local grants provided to first responders*. No coupons or codes are required. In 2005, Firehouse Subs Founders Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen established Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation with the mission of providing funding, lifesaving equipment and educational opportunities to first responders and public safety organizations. The 501(c)(3) has granted more than $46 million to hometown heroes in 49 states, Puerto Rico and Canada. Firehouse Subs in Des Moines is a proud supporter of the Foundation, which has granted more than $500,000 in Iowa, including 13 different grants in the greater Des Moines area totaling more than $175,000. In 2019, City of Des Moines Police Department received more than $16,000 for dive team equipment, and Waukee Fire Department received more than $16,000 for a digital fire extinguisher panel. "Supporting our first responders through Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation is at the heart of everything we do," said Firehouse Subs Des Moines District Manager Jose Morales. "We always say that when you come to Firehouse Subs, you get more than just a sub - you're also giving back to your community. We're so grateful that our guests continue to help us provide lifesaving equipment to first responders across Central Iowa, and we look forward to being able to show that with our Guest Appreciation Night." Each restaurant recycles five-gallon pickle buckets, available to guests for a $3 donation to the Foundation. Donation canisters on register counters explain the nonprofit's mission and collect spare change, while the Round Up Program allows guests to "round up" their bill to the nearest dollar. All funds raised benefit the Foundation. Additionally, a portion of every purchase at all US Firehouse Subs restaurants helps provide lifesaving equipment, so every time a guest dines with Firehouse Subs, they are contributing to the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation's mission.** In addition to receiving 50% off, guests will be able to learn even more about the impact of the Foundation at their local Des Moines restaurants.
