PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT CHAIR
The Professional Development Chair will plan a variety of events centered on personal and professional development and growth. It will be at the chair’s discretion whether to utilize a committee process for the planning and execution of events. The Chair will also collaborate with other YPC committees and groups throughout central Iowa with an interest in professional development.
This is a voting position.

What You'll Do
- Plan at least two events per term centered around professional and personal development (i.e., Lunch with Leaders, panels, speakers, networking opportunities)
- Collaborate and engage with fellow YPC chairs and other Greater Des Moines area organizations on professional development.
What It Takes
- An interest in personal and professional development
- Strong organizational and communications skills
- The ability to lead a committee and delegate task (should you chose to chair a standing committee)
- The ability to balance planning of multiple events
- Flexibility and the ability to problem-solve
- Time Commitment: It is what you make of it! As a Board Member, you're expected to attend YPC events as your able, which can be 1-5 hours/week. For event planning, outreach, and communications, past chairs found it is best to devote 15-30 minutes each day to stay on top of things plus additional time for deeper planning.
