Pass Along Positivity At The DSM Loves You Pop-Up Activation

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb. 8, 2023) – The Greater Des Moines Partnership will host a week-long activation in honor of Valentine’s Day. This pop-up activation is titled DSM Loves You and will feature good news boxes from local artist Maggie Goldhammer that will be filled with positive affirmations notes for people to take and enjoy. Flowers designs will be provided by Lisa Ehrhardt of LE Designs.  

The boxes with flowers and affirmations will be available from Monday, Feb. 13 – Friday, Feb. 17 in the skywalk at the following locations:  

  • Ninth Street and Grand Avenue, inside of the 801 Grand building 
  • Seventh Street and Locust Street, inside of The Partnership building 

The box at 801 Grand will have a romantic staging, with many notes and flowers. The box at Seventh and Locust Street will feature a graffiti backdrop done by local artist Jake Gracey. 

“We are excited to spread a message of love and positivity to Downtown DSM workers, residents and visitors during Valentine’s Day week with this surprise-and-delight activation,” said Jerrica Marshall, Downtown Placemaking Manager at The Partnership. “We encourage all who are Downtown to check out this art and support local businesses as they explore Downtown and celebrate the holiday.”  

Flowers will be available to take throughout the week, however they are first come, first serve. Flowers will not be restocked after Tuesday, Feb. 14. 

The activation is sponsored by Principal Financial Group®, MidAmerican Energy Company, Prairie Meadows and Bravo Greater Des Moines.
