DSM Book Festival VIP Tickets Available For Purchase

DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (Feb. 7, 2020) – VIP tickets are now on sale for the DSM Book Festival on Saturday, March 28. The Festival is free to attend, and the VIP tickets will provide a value-added experience to all four of the headlining author presentations.

Attendees can purchase VIP tickets to presentations by Lara Prescott, Chuck Klosterman, Taylor Jenkins Reid or Tayari Jones for $55 each or $95 for a package for two. The VIP experience includes:

  • An autographed copy of the author’s featured book.
  • Reserved seating for the author presentation.
  • A Fast Pass for the author Meet & Greet which moves you to the front of the line to meet your selected author.
  • Access to the Bankers Trust VIP Suite which includes a private bar, light fare, and restrooms. Headlining authors may make appearances in the Suite throughout the event.
  • A DSM Book Festival commemorative item which is only available for Festival VIPs.
  • Complimentary beverage(s).
  • 10% off a purchase at Beaverdale Books.

See the full list of VIP packages available. Guests can use the code “EARLYBIRD20” to get 10% off VIP packages now through Feb. 14. Prices for VIP packages will increase by $10 per package starting March 23. Tickets are also available for premium workshops.

Prescott is the author of “The Secrets We Kept,” a New York Times Best Seller inspired by the true story of the CIA plot to infiltrate the hearts and minds of Soviet Russia with the greatest love story of the 20th Century: “Doctor Zhivago.”

Klosterman is the bestselling author of eight nonfiction books, including “Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs,” “I Wear the Black Hat” and “But What if We’re Wrong?: Thinking About the Present as if it Were the Past,” which debuted in its first week on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Jenkins Reid is the author of “Daisy Jones and the Six,” a gripping novel about the rise and fall of an iconic 70s rock group and their beautiful, complex lead singer. “Daisy Jones and the Six” debuted at number three on the New York Times Best Seller list and stayed on the list for nine straight weeks. Amazon Studios has ordered a 13-episode limited series based on the novel, co-produced with Reese Witherspoon’s production company, Hello Sunshine.

A New York Times best-selling author, Jones is the author four novels, most recently “An American Marriage,” which has sold hundreds of thousands of copies. “An American Marriage” was awarded the Women’s Prize for Fiction and an NAACP Image Award, and was chosen as an Oprah Book Club pick. Jones’ visit is part of the Des Moines Public Library’s Authors Visiting in Des Moines (AViD) speaker series,

VIP tickets can be purchased on the DSM Book Festival’s website.

Volunteer slots are also available at the DSM Book Festival. Opportunities include event setup, information booth staffing, assisting with programing and assisting with event tear-down. Volunteers can sign up by themselves or with a group, and will receive a free Festival t-shirt.

The DSM Book Festival has received a grant award from Humanities Iowa, a state-based affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
