DMPA Brings Touchdown Tailgate Back to Cowles Commons
DES MOINES, IA – Des Moines Performing Arts (DMPA) announced the return of the immensely popular Touchdown Tailgate on Cowles Commons. Celebrating the intrastate rivalry football game between the University of Iowa Hawkeyes and the Iowa State Cyclones, the Touchdown Tailgate will take place Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Admission to Des Moines’ largest tailgate is free, and guests can enjoy the big game on two large screens starting at approximately 3:30 p.m. The Iowa Craft Beer Tent will be open throughout the event, with a variety of food trucks selling local favorites. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day with a live performance of the national anthem at 3:15 p.m.
Fans are encouraged to wear their favorite team’s colors and bring chairs for a day of football, fun and state pride. Guests are asked not to bring coolers or outside food.
