What Is Suite Shots?

The West Des Moines Suite Shots will be the first family and golf entertainment facility of its kind in our state. Suite Shots is a family and golf entertainment destination. It is similar to Top Golf, using the same technology to track golf ball speed and distance. The facility will have climate-controlled hitting suites, an upscale restaurant and bar, meeting spaces and a Training Academy where PGA teaching pros will be available to provide golf lessons and upgrade you with the latest equipment. Suite Shots is also a great place for birthday parties, corporate events, date nights, business meetings or an easy night out with family and friends. The first Suite Shots in the country is opening for business soon in Fargo, North Dakota. It is an experience and amenity that Greater Des Moines (DSM) deserves.

What Makes West Des Moines’ Suite Shots Special?

First off, our location at I-35 and West Grand makes Suite Shots accessible to the entire community and beyond. Suite Shots will help to upgrade the West Grand Corridor, complementing other entities like the MidAmerican RecPlex, which is only three-quarters of a mile away. Secondly, we are delivering an extremely high-quality product with best-in-class architecture, construction and technology. One of the first things we did was license Toptracer Range from Top Golf, which is the same technology used on televised golf tournaments to track the shots of the of the game’s best players. Toptracer Range allows Suite Shots’ guests to compete against friends, play virtual courses and receive instant shot feedback on interactive game screens. Toptracer Range is truly a game changer in the golf entertainment world.

What Has Been the Feedback on the Project So Far?

It’s been overwhelmingly positive. We have heard from countless individuals, business leaders and elected officials across the community that a family and golf entertainment facility like Suite Shots is long overdue in DSM. We are also being told business leaders are looking for an amenity like Suite Shots to help attract and retain talent in our community. Businesses also want to have options like Suite Shots to entertain their employees and customers, versus going to other cities for similar experiences. The golfing community across DSM has also been extremely supportive. From everyday golfers to PGA teaching pros, to regional golf course GMs to local high school golf teams that want to practice in the winter months, everyone is pumped up about Suite Shots.

What Are the Next Steps?

Our team is currently working through the West Des Moines site plan approval process. Upon receiving the necessary consent, we will commence development in the next few months. And Suite Shots is only the beginning. As the West Grand Corridor matures, we will add other high-quality amenities to the development such as upscale restaurants and a hotel, creating a destination that will be a hole in one for our entire community.
