National Doggie Day at Riverwalk Dog Park

National Dog Day in DSM

August 23, 2024

We all love our furry friends, and what better way to show them some extra love than on National Dog Day? Mark your calendars for Monday, Aug. 26, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and join us at Riverwalk Dog Park for an evening of fun, treats and quality time with your canine companion!

The idea for this event stemmed from our desire to provide additional opportunities for dog owners and their pups to engage with peers. It’s important to our community to connect with others who share similar hobbies and to explore our dog parks in a unique and festive way. This celebration is the perfect occasion to do just that!

Bring your dog to play, socialize and enjoy all that Riverwalk Dog Park has to offer. Whether your pup loves to run, fetch or simply relax in the shade, there's something for every dog to enjoy. And let's not forget about you! With each $5 registration, owners will receive a complimentary snack and beverage, because treating yourself is just as important.

How to Attend the Riverwalk Dog Park Event

  • A current dog park permit is required.
  • Pre-registration is necessary, and spots will fill up fast! You can easily secure your spot at DSM.city/register.
  • Cost: $5 per registered dog.

The fun doesn't stop there! Can’t make it to National Doggie Day? Join us at the Riverwalk Dog Park Open House on Sunday, Sept. 1 from 10 a.m. to Noon. This is a fantastic opportunity to explore the park, including our new drinking fountains, meet other dog lovers and let your pups make new friends. All dogs must be at least 4 months old and have proof of current rabies vaccination certification, dog park permits are NOT required — come check out the park!

We can't wait to see you there!
