Q&A
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I am an independent financial services representative building a business with Primerica Inc. We educate and help families become properly protected, debt free, and financially independent through our products and business opportunity.
Q: How are you involved in the community?
A: I have been involved with Young Professionals Connection (YPC) since November 2009. For the past year, I have been a part of the Professional Development committee and have enjoyed helping put together many events for the young professional community. I attend many other YPC events as well. In addition to YPC, I help out with and am a member of Ankeny Young Professionals and Altoona Area Young Professionals.
Q: What are you favorite things to do in Greater Des Moines (DSM)?
A: My husband and I love Des Moines and enjoy trying the many different restaurants, the variety of festivals, the Farmers Market, listening to live music, and staying active outdoors with the many trails and lakes. We also love meeting new people since neither of us are from here! We are very active in our church in Altoona, helping with the youth ministry program, the new members joining the church, and singing at our weekend services.
Q: What is something people don't know about you?
A: I studied biology and microbiology in school and only got into financial services after discovering many members of my family had never been taught the basics of finance and had already been taken advantage of by insurance agents and other financial professionals. That is when I knew I needed to learn these basics and pass them along to protect those of us who haven't learned the basics.
Q: Anything else you want us to know?
A: My husband and I are avid readers and learners of personal success. I cannot remember who said it, but the only thing different between now and five years from now are the people we associate with and the books we read. We are always looking for like-minded people to grow with, learn from, and enjoy Des Moines with!
