- Community Resource Fair: Community partners will come together to provide a on-stop shop event to meet the needs of those facing barriers in their community on Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2024 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Full Circle Recovery Community Center, 1750 48th St., Ste. 101A in Des Moines. See flyer for more details.
- Oak Academy: The Oak Academy offers free childcare for anyone (you don’t have to be an Oakridge resident) who is actively looking for work and is in need of childcare while they conduct their search. They have a full day program for families to utilize, while searching for employment, in English class, HiSET, etc., which would qualify families for all-day / free childcare at Oak Academy. English does not have to be a family's first language, and the program is free and located on our campus. Often, people in job search and various classes do not qualify for childcare, and this is one program that would help ease the burden of finding it. See flyer for more details.
- Free Community Health Work Training for those who qualify! This course will help you obtain the skills and knowledge needed to serve as a community health worker.
- Iowa DOT at Central Library: Obtain a valid State of Iowa ID with no supporting documentation required. Registration is required.
