BTV Mania + Memories

Earlier this spring, April 4–7, Des Moines became even more sprawling with insurance and insurtech expertise. BrokerTech Ventures, a company which is co-owned and cofounded by Holmes Murphy, hosted a series of events coined as #BTVMania.

About BTV Mania

BTV Mania brought together our 15 broker partners, 14 insurance companies and wholesaler partners and 12 of the most recently selected insurtech companies who will take part in our BTV Accelerator, for three days of intentional networking, business discussions and insurtech activation.

For many of our guests attending BTV Mania, this marked their first visit to Greater Des Moines (DSM). Not only was it our task and opportunity to create an agenda full of fruitful business content, but we were intentional to create an immersive experience to feature our robust city.

We hosted events jointly between our Holmes Murphy headquarters in Waukee, with overnight quarters offered through the terrific team at the historic Surety Hotel, in Downtown DSM. Our event was managed through an event app, which allowed for storytelling, attendee networking and photo-sharing. This created a stream of content for our team to co-promote our #BTVMania activities, as well as #DSMUSA. BTV Mania

We activated a Downtown DSM photo scavenger hunt, spotlighting our local art murals, the Capitol, the Iowa Cubs, the John & Mary Pappajohn Sculpture Park and more.?We used local artist Laura Palmer to create "selfie" props for our uploaded photos. We hired local musicians to offer a flavor of musical talent for our guests. We curated our own "Best of Downtown DSM" foodie + cocktail guide and featured local chefs and catering, all in an effort to support #DSMUSA and our eclectic flavors.

In summary, we created an experience for our guests that allowed for a productive business week for BrokerTech Ventures, our brokers, insurance companies and startups, all the while showcasing the best and brightest assets of our great city and region.

We can't wait to welcome our partners back to #BTVMania next year as we roll out a fresh welcome mat from #DSMSUSA.
