How Does a Business Join Your Chamber?

We like to meet with any potential members to get to know more about their businesses and go over any questions they might have. An application can also be found under the Membership Tab on our website.

What Inspired You to First Get Involved with Your Chamber?

I had an at-home business and was looking to expand my customer base. The Chamber is a great place to network and get to know people. After joining, I became a volunteer at events and have loved every minute of it! Fast forward all these years, and I was able to step into the role of Executive Director almost a year ago!

What is a Signature Offering of Your Chamber?

Greater Des Moines (DSM) is by far our greatest signature offering for our Chamber members. Chill draws in larger crowds from across the Des Moines Metro, allowing our member businesses to interact with a wide variety of people. Those who volunteer or sponsor the event have the opportunity to have their brand on display to a large audience.

What is Your Chamber’s Biggest Accomplishment in the Past 12 Months?

There have been several. We are continuing to grow our membership members, strengthening relationships with current members and increasing our presence on social media.

What Initiative/Project Are You Looking Forward to in the Upcoming Year?

We recently formed a regional young professionals group, the Young Professionals of Eastern Polk County (YPEP), and are excited to be able to offer this to our members and citizens of Eastern Polk County. YPEP is available to recent grads up to the age of 40 and those who’ve made a late-stage career change.

What Partnership Tools/Resources Have Been Most Beneficial to Your Chamber Members?

Our Chamber members always appreciate the wide array of learning opportunities available through The Partnership. As the Chamber Director, I appreciate the connections and resources that are always available to plug into.

What Are Your Upcoming Events?

• Annual Golf Outing at Toad Valley Golf Course on Friday, May 19 with a 10 a.m. Shotgun Start
• Chill on the Hill at Copper Creek Lake Park Fridays on June 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, July 7, 14, 21 from 6 – 9 p.m. (21+ event)
