Event Information
The Market takes place every Saturday morning from May through October. Hours are 7 a.m. – Noon, with a later start time during October when hours are 8 a.m. – Noon. The Market spans nine city blocks in Downtown Des Moines (DSM) in the Historic Court District: On Court Avenue from Water Street to Fifth Avenue and extending north and south on Second Avenue, Third Street and Fourth Street.
The Market supports nearly 275 local small business owners, including farmers, producers, bakers and artists that represent 50 counties across the state of Iowa.
The event is free and open to the public.

Do you enjoy volunteering? Come visit with our staff from volunteer services as they share information about opportunities to give back and the important roles volunteers play at all four of our hospitals. In addition, employees from our Not New Shop, a thrift store benefiting Iowa Lutheran Hospital, will also be on-site to showcasing what the store has to offer!

This current year we have 67 students in the state of Iowa from 40+ countries. We are searching for loving families in Central Iowa who would be willing to host and support foreign exchange students from about 60 possible countries.
