What’s in Your Bag: Oct. 29, 2022
Each week, we ask Downtown Farmers’ Market shoppers: “What’s in Your Bag?” Shoppers share what local ingredients they have purchased from their favorite vendors. Check out their purchases below!
Porshia + Kaitlyn
Porshia and Kaitlyn are sisters from Waukee. We stopped and asked them “What’s in Your Bag?” So far today they had fresh squeezed orange juice and biscuits from Holy Biscuits and a shrimp egg roll from Hmong Egg Rolls. They bought kale, sweet potatoes and spinach from Grade A Gardens, steak from RC Farm, flowers from Mai’s Homegrown Flower and Produce, lemon blueberry bread from Uncle Wendell’s BBQ and elderberry syrup from Dogpatch Urban Gardens. They also stocked up on lemon grass, carrots, beets, Brussels sprouts, cilantro, zucchini and yams. We gave them a reusable Market bag to help carry all that produce. Plan ahead for the Winter Farmers’ Market where you can get fresh and handmade holiday goods in November and December.
