Fall Hours Begin At The Des Moines Downtown Farmers’ Market On Saturday, Oct. 1
DOWNTOWN DES MOINES, IOWA (Sept. 27, 2022) — The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines will begin its October hours of 8 a.m. – Noon this Saturday, instead of its usual 7 a.m. start. The later start gives vendors ample time in the daylight to prepare their stands for the arrival of Market patrons.
“As the weather turns crisp, we’re excited to bring in a new array of fall products from dedicated vendors to the Historic Court District during the month of October,” said Downtown Farmers’ Market Manager Megan Renkel. "The change in the season also gives vendors, patrons and guests a whole new experience at The Market and gives them a chance to purchase the perfect pumpkin for carving or a new autumnal art piece to bring the season to life.”
Over the next five Saturdays in October, fall produce will be plentiful and will include sweet potatoes, butternut squash, beets, garlic, apples, and fall-themed baked goods and treats such as caramel apples, apple cider, apple pie, pumpkins, fall mums, unique gourds, flowers and plants — and so much more.
In addition to the normal Market season, the Downtown Winter Farmers' Market presented by UnityPoint Health — Des Moines will return to the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM) on Saturday, Nov. 12 and Saturday, Dec. 3 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
