Downtown Farmers’ Market Opens Vendor Applications For Second Half Of Season, Announces Dates For 2023 Winter Market
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (June 21, 2023) – The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines has opened vendor applications for the second half of the 2023 outdoor season to fill a limited number of available spots that were not yet filled during the preseason application process.
The Market will accept applications from the following types of vendors:
- Those that have participated in or been approved for the Spark DSM Business Incubator
- Prepared food vendors
- Artisan food vendors
- Material goods vendors
- Farmers
Applications will close on Wednesday, July 12 and vendors will be selected to begin selling at The Market in August. Steps for applying are available on The Partnership’s website.
“We are excited to open applications for the second half of The Market season and welcome even more new vendors to sell their products to Market patrons,” said Megan Renkel, Manager of the Downtown Farmers’ Market. “We have experienced strong attendance so far this Market season and appreciate the support that our community shows to Market vendors.”
The Market continues each Saturday through the end of October in the Historic Court District in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). The Market takes place from 7 a.m. – Noon each Saturday, with hours switching to 8 a.m. – Noon in October.
Additionally, The Market has announced the dates for the 2023 Downtown Winter Farmers’ Market. The Winter Market will take place from Friday, Nov. 17 – Sunday, Nov. 19 at Hy-Vee Hall in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Times will be announced at a later date.
The Winter Market takes a holiday spin on the outdoor Market. The Winter Market will feature late-season produce, holiday gifts, baked goods and more. Applications for vendors will open later this summer. The Spark DSM Business Incubator will also have vendors at The Winter Market.
The Winter Market will open vendor applications on Wednesday, July 19, and accept applicants through Wednesday, Aug. 23.
