Downtown Farmers' Market Opens Vendor Applications for Second Half of Season
GREATER DES MOINES, IA (June 28, 2022) – The Downtown Farmers’ Market presented by UnityPoint Health – Des Moines has opened vendor applications for the second half of the 2022 outdoor season to fill a limited number of available spots that were not yet filled during the preseason application process.
The Market will accept applications from the following types of vendors:

Those that have participated in or been approved for the Minority-Owned Small Business Incubator Program
- Prepared food vendors
- Artisan food vendors
- Farmers
Applications will close on Sunday, July 24 and vendors will be selected to begin selling at The Market in August.
“This presents a timely opportunity to expand our vendor list with a diverse list of vendors with a variety of backgrounds as well as a variety of products,” said Megan Renkel, Downtown Farmers’ Market Manager. “We are excited to expand the offerings at The Market to serve local small businesses and continue to create a memorable experience for patrons during the second half of the season.”
The Market supports 240+ local small business owners, including farmers, producers, bakers and artists that represent counties across the state of Iowa. The Market offers a variety of attractions and activities including shopping for fresh produce, seasonal flowers, farm fresh eggs and cheese, locally produced wine and fresh baked goods as well as a variety of Iowa-raised meat. The Market takes place every Saturday morning from May through Saturday, Oct. 29. Hours are 7 a.m. – Noon, with a later start time during October when hours are 8 a.m. – Noon. The Market spans nine city blocks in Downtown Des Moines (DSM) in the Historic Court District, on Court Avenue from Water Street to Fifth Avenue and extending north and south on Second Avenue, Third Street and Fourth Street.
