Transit Trip Planner Launches Online and in MyDART App

MyDART App

April 12, 2018

Public transit riders have a new tool for planning trips and getting bus times. DART launched a new trip planner on ridedart.com and added the feature into the MyDART app, available on iOS and Android.

Key features of the trip planner include improved search functionality of destinations, finding nearby bus stops based on location and viewing a map of 1,500+ stops with real-time bus arrival information.

“I love that you can see all the stops along the route, you can save your trips and you can see the real-time movement of the bus,” said DART rider K. Star. “It was very easy to use and navigate through the app.”

The MyDART app first launched in Oct. 2017 with mobile ticketing and since then, riders have used the app to pay fare more than 33,000 times. The trip planner is a second phase of the MyDART app with a third phase allowing riders to scan mobile tickets at new fareboxes being installed this August.

“Just in time for summer, we hope the new trip planner improves the riding experience for long-time riders and for those trying DART for the first time,” said Amanda Wanke, DART chief external affairs officer.
