Greater Des Moines (DSM) has a vibrant live music scene that is supported by a community that is passionate about the arts. The Greater Des Moines Partnership recently produced Music Mix Volume IV, a selection of songs that features local musicians who were selected by a jury. Music Mix Selection
In an effort to maximize and showcase the local musical talent in DSM, the Greater Des Moines Music Coalition and the Greater Des Moines Partnership collaborated to produce the first three volumes of Music Mix. A call for artists was released, and a jury selected songs for the playlist based on the following criteria:
- Songwriting: The quality of original musical and lyrical compositions
- Musicianship: Execution appropriate to the material
- Appropriateness for compilation: Lyric content, production quality and artist activity within the community
