Iowa Ortho Surgery Center Coming to Grimes

A new outpatient surgery center is one step closer to breaking ground in the City of Grimes. At the October 11th City Council meeting, the Council approved the building design for Iowa Ortho’s newest surgery center. This new facility will be located at the corner of SE 54th St and 100th St.

“The City of Grimes is excited to bring ambulatory outpatient surgical care to our community,” said Development Services Director Alex Pfaltzgraff. “Not only will this facility provide high-quality surgical services to our residents, and many in the metro, but it will bring new employment opportunities to the community as well.”

The surgery center will include an oversized canopy for patient admitting and discharge needs, a convenient family & friends parking area, easy access from all major state and local thoroughfares, and the possible addition of fast casual dining amenities as the site is developed.

The surgery center is part of a planned 27-acre medical campus within the City of Grimes. The campus will be constructed over multiple phases by Rock Creek Investments LLC (RCI), the developer of the project.  RCI has also dedicated ground on the property to expand the existing greenspace, and a disc golf course which will be completed in 2023. RCI constructs and owns specialty medical office developments in central Iowa.
