Iowa Employment Conference Announces New Ownership

The Iowa Employment Conference (IEC) is gearing up for the annual Employment, Training, Benefits & Wellness Conference on April 22 & 23, 2015 at The Meadows Event Center at Prairie Meadows. It’s an exciting time for the conference as the leadership transitions over time from Jack Lipovac, President of HR-OneSource to Nan Boland, President of HireQuality Solutions & HireQuality HR Solutions in Johnston.

Jack and his team at HR-OneSource started the conference in April 2007 with the intent to offer education and training initially to the public sector professionals however it has since grown to the private sector as well. The first year the attendance was roughly 20 attendees and has evolved over the years to over 700 attendees. The conference offers continuing education credits offered to human resource professionals (HRCI), legal professionals (CLE), payroll professionals (RCH), Iowa Municipal Finance Officers Association (IMFOA), & insurance professionals (CE). 

This conference is the largest of its kind offering over 60 informative, interactive and educational sessions  covering employment law, benefits, training & development, wellness, and payroll.   Delivering these topics our phenominal speakers , from Iowa and surrounding states, including employment lawyers, payroll professionals, workforce development leaders, wellness experts and many other field experts.

This year’s conference will kick off with Dr. Tim Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m.  His session will explore the obesity epidemic and how it leads to excessive healthcare costs for employers.  Breakout sessions will follow his keynote address at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday and continue Thursday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
