Get Out to Brenton Skating Plaza for Final Week of Skating

GREATER DES MOINES, IA (Feb. 25, 2018) – This is the final week of the outdoor skating season at Brenton Skating Plaza in Downtown Des Moines (DSM). Weather permitting, the venue will be open for skating through Sunday, March 1. Brenton Skating Plaza hosts public skate hours from 5 – 9 p.m. on Monday – Thursday, Noon – 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and Noon – 6 p.m. on Sunday. Downtown DSM residents and visitors are encouraged to embrace the final week and weekend by making plans to skate before the venue transforms into a spring, summer and fall event space.

“As we look forward to warmer weather, the rest of this week provides a great opportunity to get outside and skate in what should be ideal skating conditions,” said Robbin McClelland, Manager of Brenton Skating Plaza. “

Special events this week include Two for One Tuesday and a Family Skate Night on Thursday. At Tuesday’s event, skaters can purchase two admissions for the price of one. On Thursday, it is only $20 for four family members to skate. This includes admission and skate rental.

The Canopy at Brenton Skating Plaza will be installed in coming months and will be available to rent in May through Mid-October. The 160-foot Canopy serves as a beautiful location for outdoor events with a panoramic view of the city skyline, offering rain and sun protection. It hosts business events, weddings, concerts and more.
