30 Des Moines Area Families Will Receive a Free Furnace Between Now and Valentine's Day
DES MOINES, IA—Service Legends Heating & Cooling is giving away 30 furnaces this winter through the Warm Your Heart Foundation between December 16, 2019 and February 14, 2020.
Warm Your Heart is an annual program where Service Legends aims to make a positive impact in the community by installing free furnaces in homes for local families that do not have the means to hire a company to do so. The nomination form can be found here.
2020 is Service Legends’ 9th year donating furnaces to families in need. By February 2020, we will have donated 270 furnaces to families in need in Central Iowa.
A committee reviews each application and determines which families will receive the gift of warmth for their home. Families are selected based upon need, their story, and the resources available in the foundation. If selected, a representative from Service Legends will conduct an onsite visit of the nominee’s home to assess the family’s need and investigate the scope of the project. The information gathered is then presented to a selection committee. The furnace comes with a 10-year parts warranty and 1-year labor warranty.
